Cryptanthus Beuckerii Bromeliad

Growing a rosette about 4 inches (10cm) across, this rather upright plant has unusual paddle-shaped leaves marbled in green and brown.

It is happiest in the shade. Offsets are freely produced in the leaf axils on short stolons.

I have a Bromeliad plant that was givin to me, the central flower has turned brown. Should I cut it off? The leaves are still nice and green. Thank you.
